Fable and Fire, a bookshop bistro in Rockwall, TX, opened in the downtown area in December 2022. We aim to create a space that sparks cultural emergence through literary exploration and a culinary experience. Our vision is to become a staple in Rockwall, expanding the definition of what literature is and what it can do for our community.

We know that you know… the book is always better. Rockwall’s independent bookstore, Fable and Fire, presents a new retail experience offering a locally curated selection of books, vintage vinyl, and a delectable menu of food and drinks. We are nestled on the corner of San Jacinto Square inside the historic Ellis building hosting community events.

Bar and Coffeehouse
As our guests discover and discuss new stories, they can sit in our garden, cocktail lounge, or art-filled dining room. They can read alone or socialize with friends among our well-curated and creative space. Our restaurant’s carefully crafted menu of seasonal, signature dishes complemented by an array of coffees, teas, and cocktails will evoke a sense of magic from tales waiting to be heard.

The written word is powerful, uplifting, and transformative. If we allow it, literature will expand our minds, challenge our convictions, and provoke our imaginations. Fable and Fire is a day or nighttime affair for a multigenerational community where guests will always be able to find… good books in good company.
